Mars 2020 is a Mars rover mission which is a part of NASA’s Exploration program that includes a rover perseverance which is a small robotic coaxial helicopters. It has already sent a sample to earth and it continues to hunt for Mars rock worthy of study of earth. The rover will celebrate its second anniversary on the surface of Mars on Saturday, February 18. It arrived in Jezero Crater in 2021 which is a six wheeled nuclear powered rover that has been examining geological features and collection sample of the red planet. Scientists want to study Martian samples with powerful lab equipment’s.
“Anniversaries are a time of reflection and celebration, and the Perseverance team is doing a lot of both,” said Perseverance project scientist Ken Farley of Caltech in Pasadena. The rover has inspected and performed data collection of hundreds of intruding geological features. There will be new campaign known as ‘ Upper Fan’ on February and it is expected to add the tally. Numbers play a big role of rover mission because the statics provide the best and most efficient glimpse of vehicle trends.
It has been two years regarding Perseverance’s first two Earth years of Jezero operations and the analysis has found out the mission has been productive. The team feels they have come a long way together and the goal has been never been better. The rover analyze planet’s geology and climate history while paving the way for future human exploration of Mars be being first to gather and store Martian rock and regolith.
