Metallica is American heavy metal band. The band was founded in 1981 in Los Angeles and grounded themselves in San Francisco. Currently there are four members in the band and who are James Hetfield on vocal and guitar. Kirk Hammett is on lead guitar with Lars Ulrich is on drums and Robert Trujillo is on Bass Guitar. The band has been a legendary figure with selling hundred million copies worldwide. With their albums and tours the band has been a subject of interest to tons of people even musicians.
Metallica reminds me of my high school days where their album “Death Magnetic” was out. Around same time Linkin Park’s “Minutes to midnight” was out. I and my friends used to share music with friends and party. Their first song “The Day that never Come” was a solid hit.
A question arises: Are heavy metal bands and their music really anti-social? There are all kinds of bands and in a dual world there are both good and evil. Metallica has used subjects of loneliness, frustrations and fantasies with songs like “Mama said”, “ Unforgiven Series” and more. There is no subject for good music and Metallica has filled the gap between heavy metal music and society. With their most of the albums solid hit from one another it can be said they are royalties of music.
Metallica has given us albums like “And Justice for All”, “Death Magnetic” and “Ride the lightning.” And if music can make you feel like you are home and be a friend to you, if music can make you make feel cheerful it’s not anti-social. It’s very social. Heavy metal music has been a subject of institutions and I should say bands like Metallica have helped people even if it is a bit to people who are insecure with harmonious music, thoughtful lyrics and good guitar solos. And yes I like Metallica’s music and I should say I am a Metallica fan.
